The Tim Warfield Holiday Concert was high quality jazz as promised and those olde Christmas tunes never sounded so good, with Tim's arrangements and the intimate venue. The lovely Joanna Pascale gave a sultry vocal performance while local great Cyrus Chestnut on piano was extraordinary. Marianne brought down the house with a lovely rendition of, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. All great stuff & great musicians many thanks to Marianne and Howard for putting this together.

It was my first time attending a Jazzway 6004 event on Saturday and it was an awesome experience. Good music, a very comfortable environment, great customer service and good company made the evening perfect. By the way, the sweets were very good as well. I only wish the sets could have been longer because everything was so perfect. So thank you for extending your warm hospitality and I look forward to your future events.

My first visit was 6/11/11 for Warren Wolf, and I hope not the last. Warren's a great performer and had a great band. I knew about Jeremy Pelt, but when Tim Green--somebody I had never heard of before--joined for the last tune the level of music, already high, took off even higher. A memorable evening of music for those lucky Baltimoreans who were there.

We had many missed opportunities that later became historically altering events; such as the Beatles, Elvis, and Coltrane with Curtis Fuller in concert.
Jazzway provides a rare "second chance." Not only did Howard and Marianne's fortunate guests hear Curtis Fuller in an intimate "living room" setting, they were treated to a "stagefull" of consummate musicians! What a memorable experience. Don't miss the next concert and an opportunity to hear Marianne's vocal and interpretive talent.

Oh what a special treat we enjoyed tonight- Shelia Jordan’s “Voice and Bass”, with the smooth Cameron Brown, was so warm and entertaining, funny and sharp, covering so many classics with wit and charm. Quite the show-woman, Shelia sings and improvises like no other-it was a moving performance to behold and witness a true piece of jazz history. Shelia helps us to imagine those early days with Charlie Parker and the band. With great respect she honors jazz history and tradition, especially of those greats that passed way too soon. Her message to emerging musicians is to persevere and, “never, never, never give up”, as she has done.
A special guest duet with Jay Clayton added a sassy musical repartee and loving combination as each imitated and complimented the other. Likewise, a cameo by Todd Marcus on Clarinet added another fine dimension to the delightful evening soiree.
Where else can you have such an intimate atmosphere and be so up close and personal with the artists. The gourmet diner and desserts completed a perfect evening. Kudos to Marianne and Howard for making this all possible.

Thank you so much for having us at Jazzway 6004. It was indeed a pleasure to perform for such a wonderfully warm audience in such an absolutely "hip" venue. My wife and I went to our first show at Jazzway last night where we saw Tim Warfield, Nicholas Payton and Joanna Pascale. The jazz, food and people were great but the most amazing thing was the venue. Where can you see the jazz talent of this caliber, literally eat dinner with them and then have them perform for you in your living room. This was absolutely amazing! I am still blown away by all this. Just absolutely amazing! We can't wait until next month.

December 20, 2008
Perhaps Baltimore's best kept secret, once again Jazzway treated us to a delightful holiday performance and this time with nationally acclaimed artists. Even Miles and Coltrane would be proud of the way that Nicholas Payton and Tim Warfield delivered tonight. This band was in sync with vocalist Joanna Pascale, for a truely memorable night.
With top quality music, gourmet food and the warm personal venue what more could you ask for. Kudos to Marianne, Howard B and the volunteers- just outstanding.
